Initially funded as Falmouth School of Art in 1902, the university is nowadays one of the most specialized arts universities in the world. Among those who have supported the institution there are Peter Lanyon, Bernard Leach and Dame Barbara Hepworth. During the past decades, Falmouth has been leading the educational system. Placed second in the United Kingdom and the world in what foreign students are concerned, it provides a safe, welcoming and modern environment for their students.

The programs of the University are recognized by Creative Skillset Media, which brings together practical teaching and theory which ensures a better training for the students and prepares them for a successful career. Each year, students are offered jobs in companies such as M & C Saatchi Shanghai, Ogilvy & Mather in Mumbai, Time Magazine, Google, Nike, BBC, Nokia, Apple, Mulberry and much more.
